Kevin Tolman
William Campbell Gallery is pleased to spotlight the work of gallery artist, Kevin Tolman.
Tolman has been painting for over fifty years and works in a variety of mediums including drawing in pencil and caran d’acha, and painting with acrylic, collage, and mixed media on canvas or on paper. His paintings are layered, and he uses various media to portray areas of the canvas that seem to evoke a variety of emotions. The works can be calming yet enticing at the same time.
Kevin resides in New Mexico where he is actively creating. He was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1949 and attended the Detroit Institute of Ars and Cass Tech, he then went on to graduate from the Art School of the Society of Arts and Crafts in Detroit. Tolman’s work has been exhibited internationally in Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, England, and Portugal. His work can be found in the Albuquerque Museum’s permanent collection; the collection of the New Mexico State Capitol and the University of New Mexico collection.
