OPENING RECEPTION: SATURDAY, november 1, 2025 | 6:00 - 8:00 PM
EXHIBITION ON VIEW: november 1 – december 13, 2025

William Campbell Gallery is pleased to present Through Lines and Loose Ends, a solo exhibition by sculptor Tom Hollenback. On view from November 1 through December 13, 2025, the exhibition invites visitors to experience a series of sculptural works that trace the artist’s ongoing dialogue between material, structure, and light. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, November 1, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., offering an opportunity to meet the artist and encounter this new body of work in person.

Hollenback’s sculptures occupy a space between the engineered and the organic. Cast acrylic and wood meet fluorescent plexi and stainless steel, forming layered compositions that shift between solidity and transparency, restraint and release. These works recall the quiet logic of systems—flumes, channels, reservoirs—while transforming them into meditations on flow, containment, and change.

Within Through Lines and Loose Ends, precision becomes porous. Edges soften, surfaces refract, and lines seem to drift beyond their boundaries. The result is a body of work that hums with subtle movement, suggesting pathways both constructed and intuitive—an echo of the human impulse to make order from fluidity, and meaning from impermanence.

Rising in varied heights throughout the gallery, the sculptures create a rhythmic presence. Their luminous planes and shifting reflections encourage viewers to move among them, discovering new alignments and shadow-play from every angle.

At the heart of the exhibition, Blue Voyager expands Hollenback’s sculptural vocabulary through the unexpected: iridescent paint, sagebrush, socks, a chambray shirt, and glass. The work introduces a tactile, almost narrative gesture, grounding the exhibition’s ethereal structures with a sense of lived experience and memory.

“Tom’s work is deeply considered and beautifully executed,” notes Misty Locke, Managing Partner of William Campbell Gallery. “There’s a quiet complexity to his sculptures that draws you in. They speak to systems and structures, but also to memory and movement. It’s a thoughtful and resonant exhibition.”
